Hydroleap Awarded Trial in PropaGATE Program to Advance Sustainable Brewing in WA

August 8, 2025

Hydroleap is honoured to be selected as a Trial Award recipient in Beanstalk AgTech’s PropaGATE program; Western Australia’s first agtech-focused landing pad designed to bring the world’s best sustainability technologies into the state’s food and agriculture ecosystem.

The program’s inaugural challenge focused on a growing yet under-addressed issue: wastewater treatment in breweries. In a region where water resources are scarce and environmental stakes are high, breweries across WA are seeking efficient, affordable, and sustainable ways to manage their effluent.

A Global Search, A Singaporean Solution

After receiving proposals from innovators across more than 15 countries, Beanstalk and its partners selected five finalists. Hydroleap is proud to have emerged among them and to have been officially awarded the trial after in-person presentations and collaborative engagements in Perth.

Our electrochemical water treatment systems will now be piloted in select brewery operations in Western Australia.

A Toast to Collaboration and Impact

Led by our CEO and Founder, Dr. Mohammad Sherafatmand, and Country Technical Manager, Dr. Frank Zamani, our team had the opportunity to engage deeply with industry stakeholders, tour local facilities, and share insights on the future of sustainable water treatment. We were inspired by the enthusiasm, openness, and ambition of WA’s agtech ecosystem.

This trial is more than a milestone, it’s a starting point. By helping WA breweries treat and reuse their wastewater efficiently, we aim to build a model for sustainability that can be replicated across agrifood and beverage sectors throughout the region.

We’re grateful to the entire PropaGATE team for their trust and support. The journey ahead is exciting and we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and deliver cleaner water, one brewery at a time.

Stay tuned for updates as we kick off the trial!
